Traffic Management planned for w/c 21-07-08 as follows:-

Day-Time Works

M1 Citybound off-slip to Stockman’s Lane Roundabout to be reduced to one lane for the length of the slip. This is to facilitate finishing works to the slip. This shall run from 10:00am to 3:30pm for all of the forthcoming week.

· M1 Citybound on-slip from Stockman’s Lane to be reduced to one lane. This is to facilitate comms works. This shall run for all of the forthcoming week.

· Black’s Road Citybound On-Slip to be reduced to one lane. This is to facilitate service crossings. This shall run from 10:00am to 3:30pm for all of the forthcoming week.

· Black’s Rd Countrybound Off-slip, to be reduced to one lane at start of slip. This is to facilitate comm’s works. This shall run from 10:00am to 3:30pm for all of the forthcoming week.

Night-Time Works

· M1 to be closed between Stockman’s Lane and Broadway Roundabout, both directions, on Saturday (26-07-08) from 10pm to 11am. Diversion will be via Stockman’s Lane, Boucher Road, Glenmachan Street, Broadway Roundabout. This is for the erection of 2 new Gantrys.

· Westlink to be closed between Divis Street and Clifton Street, both directions, on Sunday (27-07-08) from 10pm to 6am. Diversion will be via Divis Street, Carrick Hill, Clifton Street. This is for the erection of a new Gantry.

· M1 & Westlink, Citybound, to be reduced to a single lane from Stockman’s to Grosvenor. This is to facilitate Gantry works. This shall happen Tuesday night (22-07-08) to Friday night (25-07-08) all 10pm to 6am.

· Westlink & M1, Countrybound, to be reduced to a single lane from Grosvenor to Stockman’s. This is to facilitate Gantry works. This shall happen Monday night (21-07-08) to Friday night (25-07-08) all 10pm to 6am.

· Minor Realignment on Westlink Citybound at Roden St. This is to facilitate ongoing road construction. This shall take place on Monday night (21-07-08) 10pm to 6am. The Westlink Citybound will be reduced to a single lane form Broadway to Roden Street during this time.

M2 Works

· Hightown Road is closed from the junction with Mallusk Road to the Junction of the Derry Road for approx. 12 months. This is to allow demolition and reconstruction of the Hightown Road Bridge. The diversion route for this closure shall be via Mallusk Road, Scullions Road, Sandyknowes R’about and Antrim Road.

· Colinbridge Road to be reduced to single lane working, operating under a temporary traffic lights system in the vicinity of Colinbridge. This is to facilitate reconstruction of the bridge. This shall run for all of the coming week.

· Arthur Road and Whitewell Road to be reduced to single lane working, operating under a temporary traffic lights system in the vicinity of Longlands Bridge. This is to facilitate reconstruction of the bridge. This shall run for all of the coming week.

· The hard shoulder on the M2 Foreshore will be closed for all of the coming week. This is to allow Comms ducts to be installed along the verge.

· The hard shoulder on the M5 will be closed for all of the coming week. This will be in place under the M2 bridge on the city bound carriageway, and from Greencastle Junction to Rushpark Roundabout on the country bound carriageway. This is to allow Comms ducts to be installed along the verge.

· The M2 city bound will be reduced to one lane between Sandyknowes Roundabout and Bellevue bridge from Mon 21 July for 10 nights. This will be installed overnight between 10pm and 6am and is to allow for carriageway lowering works to continue.

· Various closures will be in place from 21 July for 7 nights in the Greencastle Interchange Area. This is to allow for demolition works to the M2 over bridge, installed between 10pm and 6am. The M2 City bound Jn2 Greencastle off slip with the diversion route M2 s/b – Fortwilliam off slip – Fortwilliam roundabout – Shore Road. The Shore road will be closed to Belfast bound traffic under the M2 bridges. The traffic will be diverted via Mill Road – Arthur Road – Whitewell road – Antrim Road – Donegal Park Avenue.

· The M2 country bound carriageway will undergo realignment in the Sandyknowes area on Wed 23 July. This will move the traffic onto the hard shoulder. The existing lane drop to the Sandyknowes roundabout will be changed to a Lane diverge arrangement. This will be set up under the lane closures on the Tuesday and Wednesday night, and off slip closures on the Wednesday night. The new layout will be operational by Thursday morning 24 July 6am.

· The M2 shall be closed on 25 July in the both directions between Greencastle and Sandyknowes. This is to allow scaffold to be removed from Hightown bridge. This will be installed between 10pm and 6am on Friday night. The diversion route will be Sandyknowes R'bout - Ballyhenry Rd - Prince Charles Way – O’Neill Rd - Station Road - Shore Rd.

· The M2 country bound will under go realignment in the Greencastle Area on Fri 25 July. This will move the traffic onto the hard shoulder after the Greencastle Bend and return to the mainline carriageway at Longlands bridge. This will be set up under the full closures on Friday night and be operational for the Saturday morning.

· Narrow lanes layout to be set up on M2 Northbound between Junction 7 (Antrim Hospital) & Junction 1 of the M22 (Dunsilly) for a stretch of approx 500m. This is to facilitate comms works. This shall be set up on Sunday night (20-07-08) and be operational for Monday morning. In order to set this up, the M2 will be closed between Junction 7 (Antrim Hospital) & Junction 1 of the M22 (Dunsilly) from 10pm to 6am on Sunday night. Diversion route will be via Bush Road Roundabout, C45 Steeple, B518 Stiles Way, A26 Ballymena Road.

· Narrow lanes layout to be set up on M2 Southbound between Junction 1 of the M22 (Dunsilly) & Junction 7 of the M2 (Antrim Hospital) for a stretch of approx 500m. This is to facilitate comms works. This shall be set up on Sunday night (20-07-08) and be operational for Monday morning. In order to set this up, the M2 will be closed between Junction 1 of the M22 (Dunsilly) & Junction 7 of the M2 (Antrim Hospital) from 10pm to 6am on Sunday night. Diversion route will be via A26 Ballymena Road, B518 Stiles Way, Steeple Road, Bush Road, J7 On Slip Belfast bound.

· M22 Northbound Off-Slip to Junction 1 Dunsilly to be closed and Lane 1 of the M22 Northbound at Dunsilly to also be closed on Thursday night (24-07-08). This is to facilitate gantry works.

· Hard shoulder closure to be set up on the M1 Countrybound between Junction 3 and Junction 6 on Thursday (24-07-08) for approx 6 weeks. This is to facilitate comms works.

· M2 Northbound to be closed between Junction 7 (Antrim Hospital) and Junction 1 of the M22 (Dunsilly), on Monday (28-07-08) from 10pm to 6am. Diversion route will be via Bush Road Roundabout, C45 Steeple, B518 Stiles Way, A26 Ballymena Road. This is for the erection of a new Gantry.
